unnat_bandom and planned on writing the sequel to Angels Among Us for it. Angel!Ryan, Dean and Sam, Brendon and Pete and Spencer and Jon, Castiel and Gabriel, an Apocalypse and Lucifer.
It's done, finished on Friday, 16.5k words. Breathes a sigh of relief.
Now someone talk me out of writing the Generation Kill/Transformers fusion that's been percolating. I blame it on![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
hackthis because she wrote a super awesome one-shot a while back that got a plot bunny stuck in my head.
But Nate as Sam, Mikaela being awesome, Nate graduating college and deciding that he was going to end up being the Ambassador of the Autobots eventually but he'd like to be able to protect himself without an Autobot or NEST having to come to his rescue every. single. time. It's kind of embarrassing after a while. He chooses the Marines because Lennox has already got the Army covered and Epps has the Air Force covered and there's just no way that he's choosing the Navy, Lennox and Epps will LAUGH AT HIM.
And he does it and he breaks things off with Mikaela because its not fair to make her wait (the first thing she does is call Lennox and get a job working as a consultant, she's a damn good mechanic and the Autobots like her, she doesn't tell Nate that she'll wait for him because she won't, but she knows a good thing and she's not letting him get away that easily) eventually he falls in with his team, they'll always be HIS team even when they're reporting to someone else.
A bunch of stuff happens, everyone's almost killed a couple of times because their commanding officers are a bunch of idiots, Nate stays sane because there's Brad and Gunny and he knows that Optimus and Bee will kill him if he goes nuts, they're waiting for him and he tries to remember that when he lets himself think that this might be where he belongs. With this group of guys.
Of course they return state side and the first thing that happens is Lennox appearing in his office and he can see Brad's tail feathers all bristling. Lennox takes him out for lunch and they meet up with Optimus and Bee and Nate knows that as much as he wants to stay with his team that the Autobots actually need him more, need his VOICE more. His times almost up and Lennox pulls a couple of strings to get him shifted over to Nest and then pulls a couple more because Nate actually looks like something in him is breaking at the thought of leaving his team and gets them assigned to NEST as well. He doesn't tell Nate, Nate's already going to get pissed off about the Mikaela thing.
And then there's an all out battle for Nate's affections. Bee almost always comes out ahead, because he's Bee. But Brad has his awesome points and Mikaela has her awesome points and there should be a way to share them that won't end up with Brad getting kicked out of the service or Mikaela kicking his ass for thinking it.
