If I had been awake and coherent when I read that I would have noticed the first date as 1997, but I wasn't, so I was looking at google!news and cnn.com like "...wha?"
If I'd been at all coherent when I found out I would have put up the details (so as to not confuse people). But it was all slightly unexpected. The vet had told us that if he made it through the first 48 hours he would be okay and it was kind of a shock to have my sister call me Saturday morning in tears.
