laniew1: (Supernatural - Dean1)

I’ll be posting some updates in a few days but until then…

I used to do this all the time (mostly for my benefit so I didn’t lose stories but)... some stories that I just finished reading.

Brokeback Mountain:

Such a lovely AU that diverges from BBM canon when Jack discovers Ennis has gotten divorced. It’s an absolutely beautiful story, quite long and plotty and the link takes you to the first part of it.

Supernatural:

And third, kid!Dean is not at all what he remembers. He doesn’t remember the potty mouth, he doesn’t remember this utterly untrusting reptilian stare, and he sure as shit doesn’t remember hearing about Dean doing some time travel when they were kids.

I love Em’s stuff, I’ve read and followed her C.S.I. stuff since I was brought into that fandom and was quite pleased to see her writing Supernatural since we seem to have the same love for Dean. Also I have this serious love for kid stories and Supernatural lends itself quite easily to it with the fact that it’s about the supernatural. In this Dean is the one reverted to child form.

Brothers & Strangers by [livejournal.com profile] janissa11

He leans against the tile wall, lets the water sluice over him, and hears that tinny, artificial voice again. “He never told you the truth. Would you like to know?”

I’ll warn you, this story is an angstfest galore and is not finished. Part 1 (which is 10 sections) is finished and posted and Em hasn’t started posting part 2 yet. If you can get past the angst it is fantastic. It also has a Dean that is utterly believable when everything that he’s ever believed in is put to question and a Sam who has no clue what’s going on but knows that things are very, very wrong.
